YES, our tournament is designed especially for you! We’ve added 2 special offerings for the novice player: lunch & learn sessions and evening “fun games.” For the past tournaments, over 60 percent of our tournament attendees have been emerging players. Relax knowing you will be competing against players with skills similar to your own in games that are friendly, welcoming, and tolerant. Stop at our Registration Desk and talk with one of our staff on subjects ranging from how to fill out a convention card, where do I go to play, to how do I join the ACBL. We’ll take good care of you.
A new ACBL rule for tournaments is in effect. Players must now provide an ACBL member number to play in any tournament event. Therefore, non-members must join the ACBL before playing. However, a full year membership is NOT required. You may now purchase a Temporary Membership at our site for $7.99. You may also sign up for a temporary membership online. With new temporary membership, you will receive all the benefits of ACBL membership for one month – including a member number.
Temporary memberships are only available to players who never had a full-year membership before. Players with lapsed ACBL membership are still required to pay $4 more per tournament session (this requirement is not new and has not changed.) If a lapsed member wants to rejoin instead of paying $4 per session, they can do that at the tournament. Our tournament director will have forms and a system that will help a lapsed member figure out the right fee to pay.
